I work for Canopius which is an insurance company. I am Co-Head of the London Direct and Facultative Property book. This means that I insure large commercial properties mainly in the United States. My role consists of negotiating with brokers, meeting with clients and speaking to catastrophe scientists.

After leaving university in 2003 I built for a few months until I got a job with Catlin in 2004, an insurance syndicate, working in the property team as an underwriting assistant. I then moved to Canopius in 2011.

I would like the mentor/mentee relationship to be reciprocal as the ability to share my experiences with other people and have the opportunity to learn at the same time are the things that make me most excited about coming to work.

The qualities I am looking for in a mentee are enthusiasm and a desire to learn. My career, to date, has been based in the insurance industry and so that would need to be an area of interest to any mentee.
